The Craft — Diancui Feather Inlay→
This piece is a modern tribute to the legendary Dian Cui art. The body of the bee is gilded metalwork in gold-plated brass, while the wings shimmer with the iridescent magic of natural peacock feather, hand-placed in two regal colour stories and crowned with a polished agate gemstone.
Each piece requires numerous delicate, luminous peacock plumes, individually chosen for their silk-like sheen and structural integrity. As only 10–15% of feathers hold sections fine enough for jewellery, the material itself is a testament to its preciousness — and being made entirely by hand, slight variations are the signature of a one-of-a-kind treasure.
